Calvin is the owner of the barbershop that was given to him by his father. Calvin is tired of having the business and he just wants to sell it and make some fast cash. Loan shark Lester Wallace sweeps in and offers to buy the barbershop from Calvin. Lester makes false promises about the business by stating that he intends to keep it exactly the same. So Calvin doesn't tell any of his employees or customers right away but sadly Lester wants to turn the barbershop into a strip club. Calvin goes to the barbershop one day and realizes the enormous positive impact it has on the surrounding community. He realizes that he made a big mistake and wants to make things right.

In the meantime Ricky, who is an employee of the barbershop, is arrested on a third strike for stealing an ATM. It was Ricky's cousin who did the crime though and Calvin uses the $2. Lester to get Ricky out of jail. At first, it seems that Ricky is going to make a wrong decision by taking a gun to confront his cousin about the crime he got set up for but he listens to Calvin and throws the gun away. Calvin and Ricky go to confront Lester instead and Ricky's cousin and friend happen to be there with the ATM machine.
